CHIEF REVENUE OFFICER

THE OPPORTUNITY

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, build and scale a high performing sales team of A players that can meet short-term revenue goals and scale for long-term success; develop training and talent retention strategies.

  • Define how positions their product in the market by refining the overall selling strategy. Identify and define how to position the product to customers and develop a departmental selling motion to be utilized across the sales team.

  • Create and execute short-and long-term metrics driven sales plans, including strategies, goals, quotas, tracking mechanisms and analytics, building a highly metrics driven and predictable revenue flywheel.

  • Foster a low ego and collaborative sales culture as you scale the team.

  • Establish an understanding of key market and competitive dynamics to develop and refine a differentiated sales strategy for the Company.

  • Share data and metrics across the revenue organization to develop clear and approachable goals across teams to work toward effectively and efficiently.

  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of technical product details and roadmap to win the hearts and minds of buyers.

  • Spearhead the sales team and help align pre and post sales teams at the executive level, delivering a world class experience to past, present, and future customers.

  • Build a scalable and predictable closing process with high operational rigor.

 

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of progressive sales, lead generation, and marketing experience in a rapidly growing environment with a $15M+ revenue company or business unit.

  • Tech-enabled services industry experience.

  • Experience selling a portfolio of differentiated products and upselling/cross-selling to existing customers.

  • Preferred Experience in a PE/VC backed environment.

  • Experience building and/or transforming sales functions and structures. 3+ years’ experience leading growth-oriented teams of 3+ that consistently meet or exceed sales projections.

  • Strategic sales leader that can articulate a structured sales process. Strong background in sales and marketing funnel optimization and conversion, sales operations, and sales process.

  • Proven success as an active sales leader, owns personal quota, and can close deals. Strong player-coach ability. A scrappy, front-line player with the ability to drive and own revenue creation for the business.

  • Coach with proven ability to measure and drive performance as well as provide real-time coaching/create actionable development plans. Experience developing a training process that effectively equips reps for closing deals and consistently meeting quotas.

  • Thorough understanding of the process and metrics of attracting, acquiring, and converting prospects into long-term customers. Demonstrable experience designing and/or identifying repeatable and scalable operations including leads execution, preserving contracts, and avoiding attrition.

  • Financial acumen. Highly analytical; utilizes data, metrics, and measurement to shape strategies, optimize performance, and generate high-impact management reporting.

  • Experience establishing quotas, budgets, sales compensation plans, pricing optimization, and process for regular reporting cadence.

  • Experience structuring, tracking, and improving KPIs and metrics to manage and lead the business. This includes an acute attention to accomplishing all tasks on time.

  • Uses competitive intelligence, market information, trends, and marketing research to gain an understanding of client insights, demands, unmet or unknown needs, and can translate this into an actionable strategic roadmap.

  • Entrepreneurial and enjoys building and developing teams and growing companies via a programmatic and strategic sales and marketing organization.

  • Excellent communicator of go to market strategy and vision. History of building effective and strong internal and external partnerships and has the ability to influence stakeholders.

  • A driver who operates with speed. Thrives in fast-paced and rapidly changing environments. An open, engaging, action-oriented leader who inspires and holds others accountable.

  • Excellent written, oral communication, and listening skills, with highly focused attention to detail. This includes a passion for brand conformity and proper grammar in all aspects of communication.

  • Executive maturity with an understanding of how and when to use influence and authority.
