THE OPPORTUNITY

The Hydroponics store is located Warren, MI. As a grow store and hydroponics store, they offer the finest in hydroponics, hydroponics systems, and everything that their customers need to get their indoor gardens up and running smoothly. The company prides themselves on hiring friendly and knowledgeable team members and is currently seeking a Store Manager to lead their store. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator, self-motivated and metrics driven. The Store Manager oversees all store operations and reports directly to the company’s owners.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Creating and implementing systems of communication within the store, including task management and scheduling.

  • Ensuring excellence in customer service.

  • Supervising and motivating employees to ensure that regular store tasks are carried out and store goals are met.

  • Hiring, firing, and training employees, providing leadership, coaching, and feedback to staff.

  • Working with the purchasing and distribution managers to ensure a well-stocked store.

  • Overseeing inventory management and ensuring the accuracy of the POS computer system.

  • Ensuring that company policies are followed, including all health, safety and security rules.

Store hours: Monday-Friday 9 am – 8 pm. Sat 10 am – 7 pm and Sunday 11 am – 5 pm. The store Manager is off on Sundays unless emergency. Schedule may vary week to week.

WHO YOU ARE

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of retail experience, at least 2 years in managerial role.

  • Working knowledge of financial reports, forecasting, budgeting, and pricing.

  • Experience in performance management and development of staff.

  • Experience with POS systems, spreadsheets, task management tools.

  • Experience in inventory control.

  • Able to work weekends/evenings/holidays.

  • Strong management, organizational and time-management skills, providing oversight to ensure goals are achieved.

  • Detail-oriented, including an eye for cleanliness and what it takes to make a visually appealing store.

  • Other relevant experience: greenhouse or garden center management, small business ownership, degree in business, plant science, or related field

THE GOOD STUFF

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $60k - $70k based on experience

  • Up to $12k in annual bonuses

  • 1 week paid vacation
