THE OPPORTUNITY

With 150 locations and nearly 1,000 employees, one of the largest tobacco chains in the country is hiring a Vice President of Retail Operations to oversee District Managers and the retail operation, as well as work with Legal Team regarding signing new store leases, purchase and operating agreements, and oversee project managers / general contractors for new store construction. This role is responsible for strategic vision and tactical execution, driving profitability, high-quality service, and consistency in meeting and exceeding Sales Goals and Company Standards. This role provides leadership and direction to a number of stores through effective oversight of systems and activities that promote and enhance the organization’s operational efficiencies and drive long term profitability.

 

Primary Duties:

  • Direct General Contractors for new retail store openings

  • Provide oversight of all existing store remodels

  • Negotiate leases; Act as liaison between Real Estate Brokers and Attorneys

  • Oversee District and Area Managers, HR Department and Marketing Department

  • Work with Franchise Developer(s)

WHO YOU ARE

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Retail Multi-Unit Store management

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, prioritize and delegate as needed in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to think strategically and tactically, develop achievable short and long-term goals

  • Expert in retail operations, including but not limited to inventory control, loss prevention, retail systems, merchandising, customer service, talent planning, and store budget preparation and adherence

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong communication, critical-thinking, and presentation skills; effectively providing written and verbal direction
